Does Bookmap run in a browser like OpenMarket?

Bookmap is distributed as downloadable Windows, Mac and Linux builds, whereas OpenMarket runs in the browser. Bookmap lists a Windows minimum of 8 GB RAM and 10 GB of disk, and recommends 32 GB RAM for heavy use such as MBO. It can be installed on several computers but runs on one at a time, and Linux support is limited. OpenMarket has no native iOS or Android app, but the platform works in a mobile browser, with a desktop or tablet recommended for complex analysis. Scripting differs as well. OpenMarket's wrun engine uses TypeScript syntax compiled to WebAssembly, runs indicators in the browser or on OpenMarket's servers when the code is protected, and on CME futures only OpenMarket's official indicators run. Bookmap's Add-ons API offers a Simplified API in Java and Python, with a new Python API in alpha, plus a separate Connect API for custom data and trading connections. Details come from each vendor's own pages, last checked in October 2026.

Do OpenMarket and Bookmap both have heatmaps and footprints?

OpenMarket and Bookmap both show an order-book heatmap, but they package order flow differently. OpenMarket lists order-book heatmaps, footprints, CVD and liquidation maps on any market, and says a wrun indicator can read every order-book level, up to 500 a side, a vendor claim that was not independently measured. Bookmap's liquidity heatmap shows every limit order across all price levels as it updates in real time, alongside volume bubbles for executed volume and Nanosecond Zoom, which plots every update. Footprint and CVD appear among Bookmap's advanced add-ons in its packages table rather than as core features, and Multibook consolidates order books from up to 5 crypto exchanges into one chart. For futures depth, BookmapData delivers CME Group data with Market-by-Order, which is not available for stocks, and its MBO Bundle add-ons are built on that data. Both lists come from the vendors' own pages, last checked in October 2026.

How do replay, backtesting and alerts differ between OpenMarket and Bookmap?

Bookmap centres on recorded replay, while OpenMarket centres on a Strategy Tester for scripts. Bookmap's Record & Replay records live sessions and replays them tick by tick, including backtesting with full market depth, and it lists real-time simulated trading for crypto. OpenMarket's wrun strategies run in the chart's Strategy Tester, which produces a trade list, equity curve and stats; the orders are simulated, and wrun never places real orders. OpenMarket's assistant Kata can write an indicator from a plain-language description. On alerts, OpenMarket's Free plan allows 2 indicator alerts and Plus allows 25, with price alerts at 100 and 500, and alerts can go to Telegram, Discord, email or a webhook. An indicator alert needs a published version of the indicator and runs in OpenMarket's cloud. Bookmap lists price and volume alerts and filters among its core features. These details were last checked in October 2026 on the vendors' own pages.
